Marlin L. Houser, 85, of Lebanon died Sunday, February 8, 2009, in his residence. Born in Heilmandale on June 27, 1923, he was the son of the late Harry F. and Lizzie Strohman Houser. He was a retired welder from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Marlin was a 1941 graduate of Lebanon High School; a member of Hill United Church of Christ since 1937, where he served as a trustee, was secretary of the Sunday school department, and a member of the Men's and Ladie's Bible Class. He was also a member of Mt. Lebanon Lodge No. 226, F. &A.M., Harrisburg Consistory, Zembo Temple Shrine, the Lebanon Tall Cedars, Jonestown American Legion, Lebanon VFW Post 23, and the Perseverance Fire Co., Jonestown. Surviving are a daughter, Marlene E. Deiss of Myerstown; and a sister, Mildred Struphar of Annville. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. from Hill United Church of Christ, 3801 Hill Church Road, Lebanon, PA 17042. Interment will be in Hill Church Cemetery, Lebanon. Viewing will be on Friday from 10-11 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hill United Church of Christ Memorial Fund. Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, Annville, is in charge of arrangements.
