  Hugh E. Hummel, 86, of 1020 Victor St., Lebanon, died Wednesday, May 20, 2009, 
  at the Lebanon VA Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Mary T. Baal 
  Hummel. Born December 18, 1922, in Lebanon, he was the son of the late Walter 
  and Ann Hughes Hummel. He was a retired painter at Morris Hirsh Painters of 
  Lancaster, and later in life he was a selfemployed painter. He was a member of 
  the Lebanon VFW and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of 
  St. Cecilia's Church, Lebanon. Surviving are 2 sisters, Kathleen Quinn and Mary 
  Ann Thompson, both of Lebanon; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded 
  in death by a daughter, Rita Lahr, and a brother, Walter Lee Hummel. Funeral 
  services Saturday at 11 a.m. from Thompson Funeral Home Inc., 126 S. 9th St., 
  Lebanon. Interment at St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Lebanon. Visitation Saturday 
  from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home.
