  James L. Hummel LEBANON James L. Hummel, 63, died Thursday, September 24, 2009, 
  in the Lebanon VA Medical Center. He was the husband of Margaret A. Batz 
  Hummel, to whom he was married to for 36 years. Born in Lebanon, on March 29, 
  1946, James proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 19631967 in the 1st, 
  2nd, and 3rd Amphibious Tractor Battalions, including Vietnam from 1965-1966 
  earning the rank of Sergeant. His decorations included the Presidential Unit 
  Citation, Combat Action Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces 
  Expeditionary Medal, U.S. Vietnam Service Medal, Run Gallantry Cross, Civil 
  Action Honor Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. James was very proud of the 
  Marine Corps and felt honored to serve his country. He was a member of the 
  Disabled American Veterans and the Marine Corps Association. James was last 
  employed by O'Sullivan Corporation, Lebanon in the maintenance department. In 
  addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Jeremy M. Hummel and Jesse L. 
  Hummel, both of Hershey; and one grandson, Tucker G. Hummel. Memorial services 
  will be held Monday, September 28, 2009, at 11 a.m. from the Kreamer Funeral 
  Home and Crematory, 618 E. Main St., Annville. Interment will be held at the 
  convenience of the family. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the 
  service from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. There will be no viewing. In 
  lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Marine Corps Heritage 
  Foundation, 3800 Fettler Park Drive, Suite 104, Dumfries, VA 22025.
