Frank M. Jones Sr., 78, of Hershey passed from this life to his eternal home in heaven with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, February 18, 2009, at his home, surrounded by his wonderful, caring family, who greatly love him. Born June 30, 1930, in Kaska, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Harold Jones and Isma (Maurer) Valentine, and was also predeceased by his brother, Harold; and sister Betty Jones Palko. He was a sales representative for 45 years with various shoe companies, having retired from Carolina Shoe Company in 2000, and again from Footwear Specialties International in 2007. He had served as president of the Middle-Atlantic Shoe Travelers, and was a lifetime member of the 210 Shoe Association. Frank was a charter member of the Evangelical Free Church of Hershey, where he served as a head usher and leader of the men's prayer breakfast. His church family will always remember him for his warm greetings and the many stories he loved to tell. He had a genuine love for people, and wanted all to know his Saviour, Jesus Christ. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Anne (Claytor) Jones; and their six children, daughter Deborah of Newark, Delaware, son Mark and his wife, Joanne of Hershey, daughter Beth and her husband, Raef Kapp of Las Vegas, Nevada, Frank Jr. and his wife, Linda of Hershey, son Douglas and his wife, Noreen of Palmyra, and daughter Kimberly and her husband, Dan McCall of Redmond, Washington. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A private interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Broadview Cemetery, Hershey. A celebration of Frank's life will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2009, at the Evangelical Free Church of Hershey, 330 Hilltop Road, Hummelstown, preceded by a visitation with the family from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Evangelical Free Church of Hershey, P. O. Box 648, Hershey, PA 17033.
