Herbert M. Kapp, 82 years, died at his residence in Lebanon on Sunday, March 1, 2009, after a brief illness. He was born in Lebanon on Oct. 4, 1926, the son of George W. and Florence Sellers Kapp. He was the husband of Dolly Dellinger Kapp. His first wife, Betty J. Snyder Kapp, died April 11, 2004. Herb served in the U.S. Navy on the aircraft carrier the USS Chattanooga during World War II. After the war, he went back to Kapp Advertising, where he retired as general manager. A member of the Richland Legion, Myerstown VFW, Masonic Lodge No. 307 F &AM, Womelsdorf, Pa. Survived by his second wife, Dolly Dellinger Kapp, of Lebanon; daughter Lisa M. Kapp of Lebanon; five sons, Dennis M. Kapp, Charles C., husband of Colleen Kapp, both of Port Richey, Fla., Ronald L. of Newmanstown, David C. of San Francisco, Calif., Kevin J., husband of Sherry of Manheim, Pa.; 12 grandchildren; seven greatgrandchildren; two brothers, Robert S., husband of Helga Kapp of Palm Beach, Fla., Alan D., husband of Faye Kapp of Richland; three sisters, Mary Lou Meckley of Myerstown, Betty J. Kapp of Lebanon, Nancy, wife of the Rev. Charles Neiswender Jr. of Myerstown; a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Rodney, husband of Vicki Kapp, on Aug. 15, 2008; and his first wife, Betty J. Snyder Kapp, April 11, 2004; brother George W. Kapp; sisters Rachel Urich, Carolyn Kapp. Graveside services at Indiantown Gap on Thursday, March 5, 2009, at 11:30 a.m. In Lieu of flowers, donations to Compassionate Care, Suite 23, Middletown, PA 17057. Taylor-Ruffner Funeral Home Inc., 712 Chestnut St., Lebanon, is in charge of the arrangements.
