  Kauffman, Ruth A.   
   
  Ruth A. Kauffman, 81, of Myerstown, Pa., died Tuesday, February 3, 2009, at the 
  E.C.C. Retirement Village- Albright Campus, Myerstown. She was the widow of 
  Earl F. Kauffman, who died November 14, 1997. Born in Jackson Township, Pa., on 
  February 1, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Walter C. Layser and Ruth E. 
  (Kleinfelter) Layser Hower. She had been a cashier at Peiffer's Foodland, 
  Lebanon, Pa., for 17 years, retiring in 1990. She was a member of Zion United 
  Methodist Church, Myerstown, and sang in the church choir for many years. She 
  was also a member of the Myerstown VFW Auxiliary. She is survived by a 
  daughter, Sherrie L., wife of Ronald E. Stohler of Myerstown; and a son, 
  Michael E., husband of Patricia Kauffman of Lebanon; sister Betty Schware of 
  Myerstown; grandchildren Dustin E. Stohler and Tara L. Dusko; great-grandson 
  Chase Walker Stohler; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 
  held Tuesday, February 10, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. from Zion United Methodist 
  Church, 22 E. Main Ave., Myerstown, Pa. Viewing Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at the 
  church. Interment at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pa. In lieu of 
  flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Parkinson 
  Foundation, 1501 NW Ninth Ave., Bob Hope Road, Miami, Florida 33136-1494. Grose 
  Funeral Home, Myerstown, is in charge of arrangements.
