Kaylor PALMYRA Jay Ira Kaylor, 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, September 30, 2009, at The Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born Friday, July 7, 1922, in Deodate, Dauphin County, to the late Alvin L. and Anna M. (Shelly) Kaylor. Mr. Kaylor was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, served in WWII, and was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #72. He was the owner and operator of Kaylor's Service Station in Palmyra for over 40 years. He enjoyed hunting, collecting Hudsons, and his HET membership. He was an avid lifetime Philadelphia Phillies fan. He is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth "Betty" J. (Harvey) Kaylor of Palmyra; a son, J. Edward Kaylor and wife, Kathryn of Palmyra; two daughters, Joyce K. Ulrich and husband, Dennis E. of Lebanon, and Kay L. Winters and husband, Curtis of Elkins Park; four stepdaughters, Merrel S. Miller, Kimberly A. Miller, Lorie J. Miller, and Kimberly A. Gentzler, all of Palmyra; two brothers, Alvin L. Kaylor, Jr. and wife, Jane, and Lester Kaylor and wife, Marilyn, of Palmyra; two sisters, Betty Kohl and husband Earl, and Lorraine Warlow of Palmyra; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a wife, Miriam (Jones) Kaylor; and a brother-in-law, Richard Warlow. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra, with Pastors John B. Hunt and Dwight Hein officiating. Friends and family are invited for a time of viewing from 9 a.m. until time of the service. Burial with full military honors will follow in Union Deposit Cemetery, S. Hanover Twp. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Salem U.C.C., 2761 Horseshoe Pike, Campbelltown, PA 17010; or Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Parkinson's Disease Research, P.O.
