Elvin B. Keener Elvin B. Keener, age 94, of the Lebanon Valley Brethren Home, Palmyra, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 13, 2009, in the home surrounded by his loving family. He is the husband of Myrtle (Garrison) Roeder Keener, to whom he would of been married 30 years in November 2009. He was born on September 18, 1914, to Bejamin L. and Frances Baer Keener in Salunga, Lancaster County, Pa. He was a poultryman for 25 + years. He retired after 16 years from Grubb Supply Company in Elizabethtown. He was a longtime member and former deacon of the Conewago Church of the Brethren. He was an avid bowler, gardener; he enjoyed watching sports and playing bingo. He was a loving, caring man, who will be missed by his family and friends. Surviving him in addition to his loving wife, Myrtle, are his son, Robert E., husband of Joanne F. (Kettering) Keener of Lititz; grandchildren Beth A., wife of Dwain Weaver of Lititz, Steven R., husband of Christy Keener of Roswell, Ga.; great- grandchildren Austin, Courtney and Kyle Weaver, Lexy, Luke and Libby Keener; brothers Lester Keener of Manheim, John Keener of Elizabethtown; sisters Rhoda Good of Mt. Joy, Ruth Miller and Esther Miller, both of the Lebanon Valley Brethren Home, Palmyra. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Pauline Grubb Keener, in 1972; and brothers Wilbur and Lehman Keener. A time for viewing will be on Monday, March 16, 2009, from 6-8 p.m. at the Lebanon Valley Brethren Home, Multi Purpose Room, 1200 Grubb St., Palmyra. A life celebration service will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at 10 a.m. at the Conewago Church of the Brethren, 7035 Schoolhouse Road, Hershey. Viewing will be from 9- 10 a.m. at the church. The Rev. Scott Cooper will officiate. Burial will follow in Shenk's Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Lebanon Valley Brethren Home, Good Samaritan Fund, 1200 Grubb St., Palmyra, PA 17078. Rothermel Funeral Home Inc. is entrusted with funeral arrangements.
