Knight, 76, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 20, 2009, in the Lebanon VA Medical Center. He was the husband of Beatrice A. Brown Knight, with whom he celebrated their 52nd Wedding Anniversary this past October. Born in Annville on August 29, 1933, he was the son of the late Walter F. Knight, Sr. and the late Hattie S. Morris Knight. He retired after 38 years of service as a Fork Lift Operator for Bethlehem Mines, Annville. Elwood was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of Korea and attended the Tri County Worship Center, Bethel. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, William E. Knight and wife, Elizabeth of Schaefferstown and Jeffrey S. Knight and wife, Jennifer of West Jefferson, Ohio; two daughters, Lori A., wife of Michael Strouphauer of Pine Grove and Debra L., wife of Daniel Stutzman, Sr. of Lebanon; two brothers, Clarence Knight of Cleona and Walter F. Knight, Jr. of Palmyra; two sisters, Margaret, wife of Ross Herr of Palmyra and Catherine, wife of Benjamin Dowdrick of Palmyra; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Dale Allen Knight; a brother, Benjamin Knight; and a sister, Thelma Light. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 24, 2009, at 9:30 a.m. from the Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, 618 E. Main Street, Annville. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Viewing will be held on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lebanon VA Medical Center, 1700 S. Lincoln Ave., Lebanon, PA 17042.
