Kathryn M. Koch, 90, a resident of StoneRidge and formerly of Wernersville died Tuesday, January 27th, of natural causes in the StoneRidge Campus, Myerstown. Her husband of over 68 years, Robert F. Koch Sr., died June 18, 2008. Mrs. Koch was born in North Heidelberg Township on August 16, 1918, a daughter of the late Michael L. and Annie C. (Stump) Heffner. She was a 1936 graduate of Robesonia High School, and a graduate of McCann School of Business. She was most recently employed as an office manager at the former Weissmiller Manufacturing Co., Wernersville. She was a member of St. Daniel's Lutheran Church, Robesonia, where she was a charter member of the church Sunday school, served on various church committees, and was active in several church groups, especially the church quilters. Mrs. Koch also served on the elections board, was a local Girl Scout leader, sang in the Die Dolpehock Sanger Choir, and enjoyed playing cards. She is survived by daughter Lucille K., wife of Franklin R. Shearer of Palmyra; daughter-inlaw Carole S. Koch of York; brother William J. Heffner, husband of Geraldine of Peabody, Mass.; two grandsons, Steven R. Koch, husband of Michele A. of Doylestown, and J. Michael Shearer, husband of Diane M. of South Annville; and a great-granddaughter, Emily Mae Shearer; also several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Koch was predeceased by her son, Robert F. Koch Jr. Visitation will be held Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in St. Daniel's Lutheran Church, Robesonia. Funeral service and interment will be at the convenience of the family. Lamm & Witman Funeral Home Inc., Wernersville, is handling arrangements.
