   Helen M. Lauer, 94, of Spang Crest Manor died Thursday, March 26, 2009, in 
   Spang Crest Manor. She was the wife of the late Warren O. Lauer. Born in Ono, 
   Lebanon County, on August 14, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and 
   Anna May Shaeffer Shanaman. She was a retired factory worker, having worked at 
   the former Marcos Factory in Womelsdorf. She was a member of St. Mary's Church 
   and the Legion of Mary. She enjoyed traveling, sewing, knitting, crocheting, 
   gardening, drawing and painting. Surviving are 5 children: Marie A. Galebach of 
   Lebanon, Joyce F., wife of Donald Rhine, of Cleona, Penny D., wife of Arthur 
   Gibson, of Florida, Harry (Skip) H., husband of Nancy Lauer, of Florida and 
   Samuel J., husband of Trudy Lauer, of Annville; 11 grandchildren; 17 
   greatgrandchildren, 3 greatgreat-grandchildren, 1 sister, Dorothy Mitchell of 
   Arizona and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a 
   daughter, Lorette L. Lauer; a grandson, Michael Lauer, and 2 brothers, Richard 
   and Henry Shanaman. Funeral Mass Wednesday at 10:00 from St. Mary's Church, 2 
   N. 8th St., Lebanon, 17046. Interment Holy Savior Cemetery, Cornwall. 
   Visitation Wednesday morning 910 at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations 
   may be made to St. Mary's Church. Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in charge of 
   arrangements.
