LeRoy K. LeGay Sr., formerly of Cleona went home to be with the Lord on January 11, 2009, at the age of 87. He passed away peacefully at the Messiah Retirement Village, Mechanicsburg. Born in Lebanon County on April 3, 1921, he was the son of the late John and Lottie Behney LeGay. He retired from the Bethlehem Steel Company on September 1, 1982. LeRoy was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II; a member of Fairland Brethren in Christ Church, Cleona; did volunteer work for the Paxton Ministries, Harrisburg; was instrumental in construction and maintenance of the lodges at Kenbrook Bible Camp; loved NASCAR races; was a handy architect, and also proficient at woodworking; and was an exceptional finedesign artist and painter. He is survived by a son, LeRoy K. LeGay Jr. and wife Lois of Lebanon; a step-son, Jay Dutweiler and wife Connie of Lebanon; granddaughter Lorraine (LeGay) Davis and husband Marty of Wyomissing; greatgranddaughter Leanne Davis; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a sister, Grace (LeGay) D'agostinas of Harrisburg; and a brother, Merle LeGay of Gettysburg; stepgrandchildren Jed Dutweiler and wife Frona, Dawn (Dutweiler) Gearhart and husband Dennis, Jace Dutweiler and wife Debra, and Laura (Dutweiler) Adams and husband Andrew; 13 step-greatgrandchildren; and two step-great-greatgrandchildren. He also leaves a long time and devoted friend, Alma Turner of Mechanicsburg. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 42 years, Laura (Dutweiler) LeGay; a daughter, Patricia Ann LeGay; sisters Catherine, Irene, Christine, and Annabell; and brothers Eldon, Clarence, Harold, Wilbert, and Raymond. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. from the Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, 618 E. Main Street, Annville, with Pastor Ronald Slabaugh officiating. Interment will be in Grand View Memorial Park at the convenience of the family. Visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m., prior to the service.
