Robert V. Lezzer, 76, of Hershey, passed away Thursday, January 1, 2009, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 30, 1932, in Carrolltown, PA, a son of the late Americus and Catherine (Scholtis) Lezzer. Mr. Lezzer was a graduate of Nanty-Glo High School; attended Saint Francis University; a U.S. Coast Guard veteran; a member of the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Hershey; and an avid golfer. Mr. Lezzer retired as a HVAC engineer with the Penna. Housing Finance Agency with previous work experience with Thermoid Rubber Products in Trenton, NJ; Robert De Bordollo in Youngstown, OH; Buchart/Horn Consulting Engineers in York; Nicholas Crowley Associates in Harrisburg; and C. C. Kottcamp in York, where he started their Design and Build HVAC Systems Division. He was also a past president of the Central Penna. Chapter of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers Inc. He is survived by his loving family consisting of his wife, Ann (Benner) Lezzer; son, Stephen Lezzer, daughter, Milissa and her husband Ross Spera III, grandson, Ross Spera IV, siblings, William and Leo Lezzer and M. Patricia Gentile, nieces, nephews, and his beloved pets Sophie and Lily. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, January 6, 2009, at 11:00 AM in his church at 359 W. Areba Avenue in Hershey. The family will receive friends Monday from 6 until 8 PM in the Hoover Funeral Home, Route 422 & Lucy Avenue, Hershey and at the church Tuesday from 10:30 until 11 AM. Inurnment will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 897, Hershey, PA 17033 or to PinnacleHealth Hospice, 3705 Elmwood Drive, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
