He was the husband of Lorraine R. Mongeon Ludwig, with whom he was married to for 53 years. Born in Burlington, Vt., on July 18, 1922, he was the son of the late Gustav and Mabel Bradford Ludwig. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, stationed on the USS Chicago in the north pacific. He was a graduate of Cathedral Grammar School and Cathedral High School in Burlington, Vt., and received his B.S. in chemistry from St. Michael's College, Colchester, Vt., in 1943. Mr. Ludwig was a former member of Cathedral Parrish, Burlington, Vt., and a present member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Lebanon. After the war, he worked as a chemist for various companies in Northern, N.Y. He was married in 1955, and worked for 26 years at IBM in Essex Junction, Vt., as a manufacturing engineer. He loved hunting, ice fishing, the mountains of Vermont, and Lake Champlain. Later in life, he enjoyed gardening and cooking. Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Dr. Karla M. Ludwig, wife of Dr. Rob Beatty of Annville; a son, Andrew Bradford Ludwig, and partner Curtis Lezama of Toronto, Canada; a sister, Phyllis Maurice of Burlington, Vt.; two grandchildren, Adrienne Champlain Beatty and Elliot Bradford Beatty; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. from St. Paul the Apostle Church, 125 S. Spruce Street, Annville, with inurnment at the convenience of the family. No viewing. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to GSH Hospice, P.O. Box 1281, Lebanon, PA 17042. Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, Annville, is in charge of arrangements.
