  MacDuff, Vesta I.   
   
  Vesta I. MacDuff January 29, 2009 Vesta I. MacDuff, age 91, of Schoolyard 
  Square, Pine Grove, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2009, in Schuylkill 
  Medical Center South, Pottsville. Born on December 15, 1917, in Pine Grove, she 
  was a daughter of the late Newton and Mary Bautsch Witmer. She was a member of 
  St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Pine Grove, and the willing workers of the 
  church. She was a member of 8/40 Chapter for two years, the Pine Grove Senior 
  Citizens, the Memorial Council of Indiantown Gap, served on the Pine Grove 
  Election Board for many years, was a member of the Tower City American Legion 
  Auxiliary, and was a VA Hospital volunteer for over 10 years. She was preceded 
  in death by her husband, Matthew J. MacDuff; one brother, Fred Witmer; and one 
  sister, Pearl Sweigert. Surviving are three daughters, Mary Ann Crochunis of 
  Camp Hill, Pa., Kathy, wife of Gary Stump of Pine Grove, Michelle, wife of Gary 
  Reed of Pine Grove; two sons, Matthew Jr. and wife Ruth MacDuff of Lake 
  Wynonah, Kenneth and wife Cindy MacDuff of Lake Wynonah; six grandsons, Bobby 
  Crochunis, Scott MacDuff, Shawn MacDuff, Brad Stump, Christopher Reed, Nicholas 
  Reed; two granddaughters, Lana Wingard, Krista Smith; two great-grandsons, 
  Justin Burke, Blake Smith; greatgranddaughter Caitlyn Burke. Services will be 
  held at H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Monday, February 2, 2009, at 11:30 a.m. 
  with Dr. Richard Schoenleber and Pastor Ron Murhon Sr. officiating. Friends 
  will be received Monday, February 2, from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., at the H.L. 
  Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, Pa. Interment will follow in the St. 
  John's Lutheran Cemetery-PG, Pine Grove, PA 17963. Contributions may be made to 
  the to St. Peter's Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 312 S. Tulpehocken St., Pine 
  Grove, PA 17963, in her memory.
