Chief Master Sergeant. Frederick K. Mark Jr. (Ret.) Frederick Kenneth "Fred" Mark Jr., 60, 6 N. Caterpillar Court, Myerstown, died Thursday, June 11, 2009, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lebanon following a sudden cardiac event. He was born March 22, 1949, to Frederick K. Sr. and the late Arlene M. Coleman Mark in Lebanon. He was a veteran of the Vietnam and Persian Gulf conflicts. He was a retired Chief Master Sergeant from the U.S. Air Force. He also owned and operated Fred's Custom Wood Products. He loved woodworking, and the hobby allowed him to create display cases for flags and sabers for the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. He was a devoted father and husband who loved his country. He was also an avid Phillies and Eagles fan. Surviving is wife Kim M. Mark of Myerstown; father Frederick K. Mark Sr. of Lebanon; son Daniel K., a Major in the U.S. Army, spouse of Dina Mark of Ft. Carson, Colorado; son Brian K., director of area operations for Wendy's Corp., spouse of Danae Mark of Colorado Springs, Colorado; son Andrew F. Mark, a rising seventh-grader at Elco Middle School; brother Donald L. Mark of Harrisburg; sister Suzanne Miller of Lebanon; brother James B. Mark of Myerstown; grandchildren Charles, Jonathan, Emma, Elijah, Gabriel; nephews George Savich III, Elliott Mark, and niece Rebecca Savich. He was preceded in death by sister Sandra Savich and brother Richard Mark. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at 12:30 PM at Christman's Funeral Home Inc., 226 Cumberland Street, Lebanon, with viewing one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at 2:00 PM.
