  James L. "Red" Marks Saturday, March 7, 2009 James Leland "Red" Marks, 94, of 
  Greensburg passed away Saturday, March 7, 2009, in his home. Born on October 1, 
  1914, in Numidia (Catawissa), Pa., he was the son of the late Clark and Mary 
  Fahringer Marks. Prior to his retirement, he was a corporal for the 
  Pennsylvania State Police, and worked for Central Dauphin High School, 
  Harrisburg, as a driver education instructor and a home and school visitor. He 
  was a 1937 graduate of Bloomsburg University, a member of Penn Lutheran Church 
  in Penn, and a former member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Pine Grove. He 
  was a member of the Pine Grove Masonic Lodge No. 409 F. & A. M., the Reading 
  Shrine and Tall Cedars. His wife of 59 years, Irene M. Potts Marks, preceded 
  him in death on December 19, 2000. James was the last member of his family of 
  14 brothers and sisters. Surviving are his son, the Rev. Robert J. Marks and 
  his wife, Sharon of Grapeville, Pa.; two stepgrandchildren, Timothy Donaldson 
  and his wife, Susan, and Jennifer Sano and her husband, Jeff; three step-
  greatgrandchildren, Madison Sano, Samantha and Michelle Donaldson. Friends will 
  be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the James E. Lindsay Funeral 
  Home Inc., 3343 Route 130, Harrison City. Services will be held t H.L. Snyder 
  Funeral Home Inc. on Thursday, March 12, at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Nathan 
  Minnich officiating. There will be a calling time at the funeral home on 
  Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Interment will be in the St. John's Lutheran 
  Cemetery, Pine Grove.
