  Joseph W. Maurer, 66, of Jonestown, died Sunday, May 17, 2009, in the Good 
  Samaritan Hospital. He was the husband of Barbara J. Sobbing Maurer, with whom 
  he was married to for 46 years. He was born April 13, 1943, in Lebanon, a son 
  of the late Joseph and Viola K. Boyer Maurer. He was a retired PennDOT 
  employee, retiring in 1984 and later was selfemployed. He enjoyed cars, 
  professional wrestling, roller derby and especially his loving family. 
  Surviving in addition to his wife are daughters, Carla J., wife of Lester 
  Bergman Jr., Lebanon; Anna Marie "Sue," wife of Kurt Kelley, Lebanon; Cathy J., 
  wife of Christopher Hitz, Jonestown; grandchildren, Christy J. Chapin, Michelle 
  L. Desiderio, Bethany Kelley, Ben Bergman, Tiffany Hitz, Alan J. Kelley and 
  Samuel I. Hitz; 3 great-grandchildren; brother, John A. Maurer, Lebanon; aunt, 
  Anna Mae Shiner, Lebanon. He was preceded in death by sisters Anna Mae Kille 
  and Viola Kauffman. Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1:00 PM in the 
  Rohland Funeral Home, 508 Cumberland St., Lebanon, with a viewing beginning on 
  Wednesday at 12 Noon. Interment will be made in the Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.
