  Merkey Jr., A. Lester    
   
   
  A. Lester Merkey, Jr. LEBANON A. Lester Merkey, Jr., 69, passed away peacefully 
  on Sunday, August 2, 2009 at the Hershey Medical Center. Born in Lebanon, he 
  was the son of the late Rev. Ammon L. Merkey, Sr. and Gladys (Wampler) Merkey. 
  He graduated from Northern Lebanon High School and received his B.A. degree 
  from Elizabethtown College. He was selfemployed as a carpenter and artist 
  working primarily in wood marqueterie and mixed media lath art. He is survived 
  by his wife Suzanne; his mother, and sister, Marianna, wife of Luke Newswanger; 
  three nephews and two nieces. He was preceded in death by his father and 
  sister, Martha Ellen Merkey. Funeral arrangements are private and at the 
  convenience of the family.
