Dale C. Miller, 78, of 308 W. Main St., Schaefferstown, died Friday, April 17, 2009, in his residence. He was the husband of Rebecca M. Brandt Miller, with whom he was married to for 58 years. He was born October 20, 1930, in North Lebanon Township, a son of the late Carson and Kathryn Kreiser Miller. He was formerly employed by the Lebanon Steel Foundry, truck driver for Jones Motors, bus driver for Capital Trailways and, after retiring, he worked for Dutch Way Farm Market in Schaefferstown and the Manheim Auto Auction. Dale was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving on the USS Endicott as a machinist mate and also was a member of the National Guard of the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church, Myerstown. He was a teacher of his Indian heritage, an avid golfer, fisherman, nature lover and loved just having his grandchildren around him. Surviving in addition to his wife are children Annette, wife of Norman Culpepper of Arkansas, Mika, husband of Anne Miller of South Lebanon, Waleah, wife of Todd Snyder of West Lawn, Teanna, wife of Joe DiFava of Heidelberg Township; five grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren; sisters Anita Romer of Virginia; Faye, wife of Ronald Hafer of Virginia, Linda, wife of Jerry Stewart, JoAnn Book and Doris Dawson, all of Dauphin; brother Terry, husband of Karen Miller of Myerstown. He was preceded in death by two sons, Russell Miller and Dale Miller Jr. A gathering will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Zion United Methodist Church, 22 E. Main St., Myerstown, PA 17067, followed by a luncheon at the church. In lieu of flowers, memory contributions may be made in his memory to the Compassionate Care Hospice, 100 E. Brown St., Suite 23, Middletown, PA 17057; or the Zion UM Church "Organ Fund."
