He was the husband of the late Clara Preis Miller to whom he would have been married to for 66 years. Clara died in 1986. Born in Lebanon on May 23, 1717, he was the son of the late Irwin A. and Carrie Witmeyer Miller. Earl was a 1935 graduate of Lebanon High School where he participated in multiple musical and sports organizations and was the Reunion Committee Treasurer. He also studied Accounting through a LaSalle Extension Course and was a US Army Veteran of WW II with the rank of Staff Sergeant serving with the Medical Corps in the European Theater. Earl was employed for 38 years in the Accounting Department for Bethlehem Steel Corp., Lebanon, worked 10 years as a bookkeeper for Luttrell Construction Company, Hershey, and served as a volunteer for the Lebanon Unit of the American Cancer Society. He was a lifelong member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Lebanon where he served as a Sunday School Teacher, the Financial Secretary, Chairman of the Administrative Council, and a member of the Church Choir, Men's Quartet, and Orchestra. Surviving is a daughter Janet M. wife of E. Merritt Lentz, Jr. of Wynnewood, PA and a son David E. Miller and wife Barbara A. Miller of Palmyra. A brother Harold E. Miller of Lebanon, grandchildren E. Merritt Lentz of Philadelphia, Robert M. Lentz of Wynnewood, Karen E. Lentz of Wynnewood, Jessica L. Cole of Orlando, FL, and Rebecca L. Miller of Chicago, Il, great grandchildren Ethan J. Cole and Caleb D. Cole both of Orlando, Fla. He was preceded in death by a brother Rodney A. Miller and two sisters Ethel L. Miller and Charlotte L. Goodman. Funeral services will be held on Saturday July 11, 2009 at 11:00 AM from the Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, 618 E. Main Street, Annville. Interment will be in Grand View Memorial Park. Viewing will be held on Saturday from 911 AM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to his church at 510 N.
