  Neil C. Montgomery, P.E., 161 Hearthstone Lane, Lebanon, died Saturday, 
  February 28, 2009, in the Lebanon Good Samaritan Hospital. He was the husband 
  of the late Helen V. Follette Montgomery, whom he married in 1948, and whom he 
  shared life with for the next 60 years until her passing, March 10, 2007. He 
  was born in Wilbur, Neb., on April 30, 1925, son of the late I.J. and Ethel 
  Clayton Montgomery. He received his bachelor of science degree from the 
  University of Washington in 1950, and an additional B.S. degree from Washington 
  State University in 1952, and was until his death a consulting structural 
  engineer. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in the 
  Pacific Theatre as a demolition expert. Surviving are a daughter, Gwen M. 
  Montgomery, wife of Douglas Underdahl of Long Valley, N.J.; four grandchildren; 
  a greatgrandchild; sisters Jean C. Berg of Seattle, Wash., and Chloe, wife of 
  Ira Porter of San Diego, Calif. He was preceded in death by a son in 1987, 
  Capt. Joel D. Montgomery, USAF. Interment Indiantown Gap National Cemetery 
  Monday, March 16, 2009, at 11:30 a.m., followed by a gathering of family and 
  friends from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Hearthstone Community Center. In lieu of 
  flowers, contributions may be made to Lebanon Community Library, 125 N. Seventh 
  St., Lebanon 17046. The Rohland Funeral Home Inc., Lebanon, is in charge of 
  arrangements.
