Edward "Eddie" Moyer, Jr., 84, died Tuesday, August 25, 2009, in the Lebanon VA Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Ruth Zimmerman Moyer. He was born February 9, 1925, in Lebanon, a son of the late Harry E. Moyer, Sr. and Bertha E. Shindel Moyer. He was employed for 40 years in the tool and die department at Bethlehem Steel Corporation, Lebanon. Eddie served in the U.S. Army during War World II, where he was wounded during the Battle of the Bulge, December 24, 1944, receiving a Purple Heart. He was a lifelong member of the Lebanon Moravian Church, where he was sacristan, trustee, elder and Sunday school teacher for many years. He also served as caretaker of the Moravian Cemetery and a member of the Moravian Church bowling team. He was a member of the TCA-Train Collectors Association in Strasburg and the Central Pennsylvania S-Gauge Association. He is survived by children, K. Sue, wife of James K. Holcombe of Mohrsville, John E., husband of Cindy Moyer of Cleona, Joan L., wife of Daniel Geib of Bethel, and Edward P., husband of Brandy Moyer of Lebanon; grandchildren, Michael and Kelly Holcombe, Darrel, Shannon and Erica Moyer and Harry Geib; sister, Bertha E. Stoner of Annville. Funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Rohland Funeral Home, 508 Cumberland St., Lebanon, with a visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be made in the Moravian Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lebanon Moravian Church, 1115 Birch Road, Lebanon, PA 17042; or the Lebanon VA Medical Center, 1700 S.
