MaryAnn C. Myers of Palmyra, and formerly of Hershey, peacefully passed away to the arms of angels on June 10th, 2009, surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 15, 1938, in Lebanon to Nicholas G. and Irene L. (Bullock) Vernon. In addition to her parents, MaryAnn is preceded in death by her adoring husband, Max B. Myers Sr., brothers Sonny Vernon and Nicholas Vernon Jr., and her sister, Judy Kershner. She is survived by her daughter, Christy Stover (husband Chuck) of Hershey, sons Max B. Jr. (wife Vicky Taylor) of Harrisburg and Steve (wife Cherie Vargo) of Hershey, as well as her loving companion, Robert Kershner. In addition, she leaves behind 7 grandsons, 2 granddaughters, her brother, Frank Vernon of Endicott, NY, her sister, Pauline Snyder of Myrtle Beach, SC, and numerous nieces, nephews and special friends. A graduate of Lebanon Catholic High School, MaryAnn worked as a licensed beautician before becoming a dental assistant for Dr. Schneider of Lebanon, and then Dr. Roland Mariani of Hummelstown. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church in Hershey. MaryAnn enjoyed collecting antiques, playing cards and games, and laughing with family and friends, but her children and grandchildren were always the primary focus and light of her life. A celebration of MaryAnn's life will begin with a visitation on Sunday, June 14th, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. immediately followed by a prayer service in the Hoover Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Route 422 & Lucy Avenue, Hershey. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 15th, at 11:00 AM in St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, 359 West Areba Avenue, Hershey. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Central Pennsylvania, 1320 Linglestown Rd., Harrisburg, PA, 17110.
