Napierala, 88, of 223 Brookside Apts., died Sunday, December 13, 2009, in the Hershey Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Arthur F. Napierala, who served at Fort Indiantown Gap. She was born in Lebanon, on August 7, 1921. She was a daughter of the late John W. Jr. and Edna R. Matters Ward. She was an inspector for RCA in Lancaster. She was a Eucharistic Minister and a member of St. Benedict The Abbot Church. She was a volunteer in many church functions, especially the Christmas Bazaar - flea market. She was a member of the Verbena Club, Polka Pals, and served as PA Polka Princess for one year and was the runner-up the next year. She was a life member of the GSH Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, and Lebanon Valley Senior Center. She served as Board of Director of the YMCA and Lebanon Valley Senior Center. She was a volunteer with Christian Ministries and performed as Bag Lady & Tramp. She helped instruct dancing and exercise classes at the Senior Center for several years. She was a member of the Democratic Committee of the 9th Ward. Surviving are three children, Edward J. Twardowski, Jr., Gregory K., husband of Brenda Napierala, and Patricia A. Ream; seven grandchildren, Gregory, Steven, Kristin, Jodi, Charles, Kevin, and Kirk; 11 greatgrandchildren; one sister, Betty Stellar; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, John H. Demmy, Jr., III and Robert Demmy. Funeral mass on Friday at 1 p.m. from St. Benedict The Abbot Church, 1300 Lehman St., Lebanon 17046. Interment at Ebenezer Covenant Cemetery. Viewing hours Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Benedict's Church.
