O'Sullivan SAGINAW, MI Sarah 'Sally' Jane (Trombley) O'Sullivan, 83 passed away Monday, October 5, 2009, at her home in Myerstown. The daughter of Donald B. and Sarah B. (Fisher) Trombley, she was born on April 14, 1926, in Saginaw, Mich. Sally graduated from Arthur Hill High School in Saginaw in 1943, and received a Bachelor's Degree in business administration from the University of Michigan in 1947, graduating summa cum laude and being elected to phi beta kappa. Sally married Dr. Girardin (Gerry) O'Sullivan on September 6, 1947, and together they enjoyed more than 50 years of marriage until Gerry's death in 2004. Sally and Gerry were avid bridge players and loved traveling, especially their trips to the Caribbean with Sally's brother, Blaine Trombley,and his wife, Beulah"B" (now deceased). At one time, Sally worked as an assistant to Dr. William Menninger of the Menninger Clinic in Topeka, Kan. Multi-talented and a loving wife and mother, Sally was also an accomplished athlete and dancer. She was renowned for her kind heart and thoughtfulness. Sally is survived by her brothers, Blaine and Jack, and Jack's wife, Marion, all of Saginaw, Mich.; and her three children and their spouses, Catherine O'Sullivan and her husband, Todd Peters of Morgantown, Craig O'Sullivan and his wife, Jennifer of Union City, Calif., and Michael O'Sullivan and his wife, Laurie of Charlotte, N.C. Her beloved daughter, Patti O'Sullivan, predeceased Sally in 2004. She will be greatly missed by her four grandchildren, Stefan Peters, Patrick O'Sullivan, Sarah O'Sullivan, and Daniel O'Sullivan. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Sally are requested to make a contribution to the Salvation Army. Grose Funeral Home, Myerstown, is in charge of arrangements.
