  Petery, Henry R.   
   
  Henry R. Petery, 82, of Myerstown, Pa., died Wednesday, January 28, 2009, at 
  the Reading Hospital. His wife, Dorothy S. (Trostle) Petery, died April 8, 
  2000. Born in Denver, Pa., he was a son of the late Irwin M. and Florence 
  Heiser Petery. He owned Mid-States Poultry and Henry R. Petery Real Estate, and 
  was also a certified real estate appraiser for many years. He was a graduate of 
  Denver High School in 1944, and a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. 
  Marine Corps from 1944-1946, and fought in Iwo Jima. He was a member of the 
  Bethel American Legion and the NRA. Surviving are three children, Bonne L. 
  (Jerry A.) Moyer of Stevens, Pa., Barry L. (Cheryl) Petery of Halifax, Pa., and 
  Robert L. (Suzie) Petery of Waynesburg, Pa.; eight grandchildren, Mary 
  Brymesser, Tracy Walters, Eric, Troy and Shannon Petery, Melissa Newman, Jesse 
  and Emily Petery; eight greatgrandchildren; four sisters, Thelma Luckenbill, 
  Edith Moyer, Dorothy Demming and Shirley Kemper; and sister-inlaw Readith 
  Petery. He was predeceased by sisters Pauline Sholmartin, Anna Hemling and 
  Doris Petery; and brothers Lester, Robert and Merrit. Funeral Saturday, January 
  31, 2008, at 10 a.m.; viewing 9-10 a.m. at the Roseboro Funeral Home, 533 
  Walnut St., Denver, Pa. Interment in Pleasant View Cemetery, Fritztown, Pa. In 
  lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimers Association, 
  Greater Pennsylvania Chapter, 3544 N. Progress Ave., Suite 205, Harrisburg, PA 
  17110.
