  Purdon, Fern Our mother, Fern E. Purdon, 92, died on March 30, 2009, at ECC's 
  StoneRidge Campus, Myerstown, Pa. She was born July 18th, 1916, in Reading, 
  Pa., to Charles F. and Mabel I. Miller, and was sister to William C. Miller and 
  Georgene A. Noll. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Purdon; and 
  son Gregory A. Purdon. She is survived by two sons, James C. Purdon of 
  Myerstown, Pa., and Steven W. Purdon and wife Joan, Atlanta, Ga.; a daughter-in-
  law, Laurie Van Metre of King of Prussia, Pa.; two grandchildren, Matthew S. 
  Purdon of San Francisco, Calif., and Jarrod A. Purdon and wife Helen of 
  Atlanta, Ga.; and one greatgrandchild, Sarah Grace. She was a member of the 
  Christian Science Church, Reading, Pa., where she served as a church reader for 
  many years. She was very active in Purdon Studio in Shillington, Pa., assisting 
  her husband Andrew Purdon, a noted professional photographer. Our mother loved 
  her friends most of all, and took pleasure doing handwork, watching birds, 
  playing dominos, cooking, and travel. She has given us so much through her love 
  of life, and ability to overcome loss and hardship. A memorial service will be 
  held Friday, April 3rd, 2009, at 10 a.m. at ECC's Stoneridge Campus, Myerstown, 
  Pa., followed by internment at Pleasant View Cemetery, Sinking Spring, Pa. 
  Memorial service and internment will be officiated by the Rev. Dana M. Logan. 
  In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to 1st Church of Christ, 
  Scientist, P.O. Box 213, Reading, PA 19601.
