"Bob" Renfrew, Jr., 81, formerly of Lebanon and Easton, died Saturday, December 5, 2009, in Sarasota, Fla. Bob was born November 22, 1928, in Detroit, Mich., to Rose (Andrews) and Robert Renfrew, Sr. He attended Chambersburg High School and after serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, he returned to graduate from Mercersburg Academy in 1950. A graduate of Lafayette College, where he was also President of Delta Upsilon fraternity, Bob received his B.S. degree in Mining Engineering in 1954. Honored by "Who's Who in America" for his professional success, he worked as a head mining engineer for Bethlehem Steel Corp. in Cornwall and Bethlehem for 30 years. As a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Lebanon, he served as a teacher, elder, and synod representative. An active community volunteer, Bob gave many hours to the Lebanon County Workshop for the Mentally Handicapped, the United Way, the Lebanon YMCA, and as a coach of Little League baseball. He was a member of The Society of Professional Engineers and The American Legion. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Anne; their three children, Kimberlee A. Renfrew of Pasadena, Calif., Robert T. Renfrew, III of San Antonio, Texas, and E. Andrews Renfrew of Boalsburg; and their seven grandchildren, Casie, Robert Thompson, IV, Whitney, Tracey, Ashley, Benjamin, and Cameron. Farley Funeral Home, Venice, Fla., is handling arrangements. Services will be held on Friday, December 18, 2009, at 11:30 a.m. at The Presbyterian Church of Falling Spring, Chambersburg. Interment will be at 12:30 p.m. in Lincoln Cemetery, Chambersburg.
