  Charles Rhoades Charles Rhoades, 79, of 534 Oak St., Lebanon, died Monday, July 
  13, 2009 at the Harrison House Senior Living, Coatesville, PA. He was preceded 
  in death by his wife, Mary T. Dakes Rhoades who died October 30, 1994. Born 
  October 29, 1929 in Mahanoy City, PA, he was the son of the late Charles R. and 
  Nellie M. Steiner Rhoades. He was a retired Management Analyst with the 
  Department of the Army at Indiantown Gap. He was a 1947 graduate of Mahanoy 
  City High School and a 1953 graduate of McCann School of Business. He served in 
  the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed spending time with his 
  family, especially his children and grandchildren. He was of the Christian 
  faith. Surviving are children: Charles K., husband of Melanie Rhoades, Dover, 
  NH, Most Rev. Kevin C. Rhoades, Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Harrisburg, 
  and Robin, wife of William McCracken, Gap, PA. Grandchildren: Emily and Rachel 
  Rhoades, and Johnny, Molly and Marykate McCracken. He was preceded in death by 
  his brothers, Clarence Rhoades and Robert Rhoades. At Mr. Rhoades' request, a 
  private funeral service for the family will be celebrated by his son, Bishop 
  Rhoades at the Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. 126 S. 9th St. Lebanon, Pa. 17042 . 
  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Charles and Mary 
  Rhoades Scholarship Fund at Lebanon Catholic School, 1400 Chestnut St., 
  Lebanon, PA 17042, or to Harrison Senior Living, 300 Strode Ave., Coatesville, 
  PA 19320. Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., is in charge of the arrangements.
