Rohrer, 79, died Monday October 19, 2009, in the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. She was the wife of Rufus F. Rohrer with whom she celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this past March. Born, February 13, 1930, in Lebanon, she was the daughter of the late Paul H. and Nettie Hibshman Ziegler. She was employed by the Eastern Lebanon County School District, Intermediate Unit 13, and the ELCO School District in the ELCO Elementary Schools as a Primary Special Education teacher for 30 years from 1962-1992. Erma attended Lebanon City Schools and Lebanon Valley College. After their three children were in school, she went back to college and taught Special Education Classes for Elementary Educable Children in the Eastern Lebanon County School District. She graduated from Millersville State University in 1970, got a Master's Degree there in 1973, and an Elementary Principal's Certificate from Temple University in Philadelphia in 1992. She was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Lebanon, a member and past president of Delta Kappa Gamma-Nu Chapter, the Optimist Club of Lebanon, the Lebanon Business and Professional Women's Club, Lebanon Women's Club, Council of Exceptional Children, Lebanon County Honor Society, Pa. Association of School Retirees, the KeenAgers, and the Local and National AARP. Erma was a former member of the Lebanon Church of the Brethren where she served as a Deaconess, was a member of the choir for 30 years, and a Sunday School teacher for 20 years. She also served as the Primary Sunday School Superintendent, Co- Chair of Spring Haven, Leprosy Chairman, and on the Lebanon Council of Church Women. She was a volunteer for GSH Hospice, Good Samaritan Hospital, Good Samaritan Physician's Services, and the AARP. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two sons, Clinton L., husband of Karen L. Rohrer of Quentin, and R. David, husband of Frances Rohrer of Gettysburg; a daughter, Sharon R., wife of Jeffrey R. Lehman of Lebanon; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles H. Ziegler of Seabring, Fla.; and two sisters, Anna Dourte of Lebanon and Barbara Dennis of Austin, Texas. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. from St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 600 S. 12th St., Lebanon, PA 17042. Entombment will be in Grand View Memorial Park Mausoleum. Friends may call on Friday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to GSH Hospice, P.O. Box 1281, Lebanon, PA 17042.
