She was born in Cleveland, OH, on October 28, 1917, as the daughter of Gustav Walfrid and Agnes Marie Karlsten Wendelius; both emigrated from Sweden. She spent her formative years growing up in Stockholm, Sweden, and later Jamestown, NY, where she met and married Gordon Everett Samuelson, a World War II veteran, who passed away on May 23, 1974. Rose Marie with husband Gordon and family moved to Lebanon in 1960, where she and Gordon raised their three children, Linda Suzanne Samuelson Honicker, Cato, NY; Kent Wendell Samuelson and Craig Warren Samuelson, both residing in Lebanon. She worked at Endicott Johnson's Shoe Store, followed by Haak's Department Store until her retirement in 1981. She was a highly private person but greatly enjoyed spending time with her family. In addition to her children, she is survived by Linda's two children, Crystal Spence Lewis, wife of John Lewis with their four children Collin, Kevin, Kerri and Justin of Phoenix, NY; and Erik Kendell Spence with his wife Sandra Nye Spence and their two children Kayla and Kaitlyn of Monroe City, MO; Kent's two children, Anissa Lynn Samuelson Gunnells, wife of Jon Gunnells with their three children Tara Lynn, Matthew and Timothy of Lebanon, and Lincoln Daryl Samuelson with his wife Treva Knepp Samuelson and their child Austin of Annville, and Craig, husband of Penelope Lee Andrew Samuelson and their two children Lee and Benta of Lebanon. Rose Marie will be greatly missed by her friends and family. Funeral service will be held with the immediate family. The Rohland Funeral Home, Lebanon, is handling the arrangements.
