Dr. Narendra M. Saxena, 76, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009, at his home in Mechanicsburg. Throughout his life, he was a very energetic, active and happy family man. Although he sadly left his family and home in India in 1970, he quickly made friends in the U.S. He settled in Lebanon, then moved to Mechanicsburg, and has spent more than 35 years in this area. His network of friends stretches from California, the midwest to the eastern seaboard, and also in the U.K. He also has an extensive network of family and friends in Inida. Traveling was the love of his life, and he has visited almost every corner of the world including Europe, Asia and Australia. He also enjoyed photography, model trains, and spoiling his grandchildren with any and every toy he could find. He served as an attending professor in India for 10 years, then came to the U.S., and has worked for the VA system for over 30 years. He was married for 51 years, and is survived by his wife Indra. He is also survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Sanjay and Preeti, Sajiv and Jyoti, and Samir and Nibha. He is survived also by his grandchildren, Samraat and Yuvraj, Supriya, Vinita and Eisha, and Siddharth and Abi Shekh. Friends are invited for the memorial service on Friday at 7 p.m. at HARI Temple located at 301 Steigerwalt Hollow Road, New Cumberland.
