"Honey" Schick passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2009, at Good Samaritan Hospital. She was born in Philadelphia on September 1, 1912, and was the daughter of Amelia and Harry Haman, both deceased. Honey was born and reared on Lee Street in Philadelphia and attended Kensington High School. For many years Honey was an active volunteer at the Kensington Dispensary and the Holy Redeemer Hospital. She loved all things having to do with her hometown and read the Philadelphia Inquirer from cover to cover daily until her hospitalization. She was the "complete Philadelphian." Honey was preceded in death by her husband, Earl F. Schick. Several years after her husband's death, she moved to Cornwall Manor, where she has resided for the past 19 years. Surviving are her daughter, Joan S. Beaver, wife of R. Hart Beaver of Richland, and a son, Earl W. Schick, husband of Georgia B. Schick of Pittsburgh. She has three grandchildren, Britt B. Saitta, wife of John A. Saitta of Huntington Valley, Gary K. Schick, husband of Lisa G. Schick of Tampa, Fla., and Casey C. Schick of Los Angeles, Calif.; and four greatgrandchildren, Bradley Hart Saitta and John Tyler Saitta, children of Britt B. and John A. Saitta, and Jacob A. Schick and Olivia T. Schick, children of Gary K. and Lisa G. Schick. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2009, at 3 p.m. at the Zerr Chapel at Cornwall Manor in Cornwall. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation honoring Honey's life to GSH Hospice of Lebanon, or the Cornwall Manor Resident Association Employee Fund, or a charity of your choice.
