  Alvie E. Scott LEBANON Alvie E. Scott, 95, died Thursday, September 30, 2009, 
  at Cedar Haven Nursing Nursing Home. He was the husband of Gertrude A. Sowders 
  Scott who died in 2003. Born in Alva, Ky., on November 29, 1913, he was the son 
  of the late John and Margaret Lee Scott. He worked as a custodian at Essex 
  County Hospital, Essex County, N.J., and prior to that was a coal miner working 
  in Cardinal, Ky. He was a former member of Lebanon Valley Baptist Church and 
  presently attended Chapel services at Cedar Haven. Alvie loved his 
  grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed hunting and gardening. 
  Surviving are three daughters, Joyce F., wife of William Miller of Cleona, 
  Brenda F., wife of John A. Rogers of Stewart, Fla., and Shirley J., wife of 
  Nils R. Richardson of Burlington, N.J.; a sister, Verda Shelton of Franklin, 
  Ohio; 10 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death 
  by a son, John David Scott; five brothers; and four sisters. Funeral services 
  will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, 618 
  E. Main St., Annville. Interment will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra. 
  Viewing will be held on Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service.
