  Sylvia Shenesky MARIETTA Sylvia Acri Shenesky, 95, passed away Saturday, 
  August 1, 2009. She was the daughter of the late Samuel A. and Elsie Ruby Acri. 
  Born in Marietta, Sylvia was a graduate of the Marietta High School, earned a 
  Bachelor of Arts degree from Ursinus College and fulfilled her obligations for 
  student teaching at Gettysburg College. She was a teacher for five years at 
  Solanco High School and taught language and English for 33 years at Lebanon 
  Junior High School retiring in 1973. Sylvia was a member of St. John's 
  Episcopal Church, NEA, PSEA, Marietta Restoration Assoc. and was a lifetime 
  member of the Lebanon Teacher's Assoc. She was an avid traveler and was the 
  organist at the Marietta Theater when her father was owner and operator. 
  Surviving is a nephew, Alan D. Acri of Strasburg, and a niece, Jane B. Acri of 
  Potomac, Md. She was preceded in death by brothers Armand A. and Vincent F. 
  Acri. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Life 
  Celebration Memorial Service on Saturday, August 15, 2009 at 10 a.m. at Smedley 
  Funeral Home, Ltd., 29 N. Gay Street, Marietta. Interment will follow in the 
  Marietta Cemetery. Friends may call one half hour prior to the service at the 
  funeral home. If desired memorials may be made in Sylvia's memory to St. John's 
  Episcopal Church, 239 E. Market Street, Marietta, PA 17547. Smedley Funeral
