She was born December 17, 1946, to Mildred Smith and the late Richard True in Lebanon. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church in Hershey, PA. She was married to John Shultz Jr. on July 16, 1988. She graduated from Lebanon High School in 1964, attended Airline Stewardess School in Kansas City, MO, School of Nursing in Denver, CO, and graduated as an LPN. She was employed at Milton S. Hershey Medical Center as the Coordinator of Clinical Services (retired), Department of Anesthesiology. Her hobbies included knitting, reading, Cape May and being with her family. She was the 2006 recipient of the Hershey Medical Center NonFaculty Outstanding Service Award. This award was renamed the Donna L. Shultz NonFaculty Outstanding Service Award in her honor in 2009. She was also the Hershey Medical Center Employee of the Month in November 2002. She also liked Clay Aiken and Celine Dion. Surviving is husband John Shultz Jr. of Lebanon; mother Mildred True; daughter Sherri, spouse of David Johnson; son John, spouse of Andrea Shultz; daughter Jennifer, spouse of Steve Galos; brother Jeffrey, spouse of Cindy True; brother Michael, spouse of Gail True; grandchildren Lowen and Taylor Johnson, Camryn and Cooper Palmer, Mackenzie and Braden Shultz, Grace and John Galos, and Devin Barnett. She was preceded in death by son Tom Palmer and grandson Colin Shultz. Memorial services will be held Thursday, June 18, 2009, at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 8th and Cumberland Street, Lebanon.
