  Edward S. Smith HIGHSPIRE Edward S. Smith, 78, died Thursday, September 24, 
  2009, in the M.S. Hershey Medical Center. Born January 3, 1931, in Palmyra, he 
  was a son of the late Homer and Blanche (Kline) Smith. He retired from Mack 
  Trucks, Harrisburg, as a mechanic with 37 years of service. Edward was a 
  Palmyra High School graduate, a member of West Fairview Boat Club, and enjoyed 
  fishing and boating. He was the widower of Dolores Smith and was also preceded 
  in death by a brother, Robert Smith. Surviving are his children, Connie, wife 
  of Dennis Mentzer of Richland, Kathy, wife of Jacob Wise of Bainbridge, and 
  Douglas Smith and companion, Marcia Dycus of Middletown; companion, Vicki 
  Flippen of Middletown; brothers, William Smith of Florida and Harold Smith of 
  Palmyra; four grandsons; and one great-grandson. Services will be held at the 
  convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the American 
  Cancer Society, P.O. Box 897, Hershey, PA 17033.
