M. shabodeho@aol.com December 26, 2009, 12:11 am Published in the Lebanon Daily News on 12/9/2009 Spinnato, Michael Michael Spinnato SINKING SPRING Michael Spinnato, 87, of Manor Care, Sinking Spring died on Sunday, December 6, 2009, peacefully surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Helen nee Hafer Spinnato, Wyomissing with whom he has celebrated over 30 years of marraige, and Laura nee Wagner Spinnato, who passed away in 1974. He was born on January 12, 1922, in Phillipsburg, N.J., a son of the late Antonio and Marie Nazarro Spinnato. He served four years in WWII as a U.S. Army/Air Force Sergeant with the 49th Air Service Squadron and was honorably discharged on February 4, 1946. He was a welder for 35 years at the Dana Parish Division in Reading having retired in 1986 and was cited for being a 60 year member in good standing with the Richland American Legion Post 880. In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, Marcia Ann Kahl, Robesonia, Michael R. husband of Cynthia Spinnato, Columbia, S.C., and Marilyn M. Spinnato, Reading; grandchildren, James D. Kahl, Jr., Teri Ann Boyer, Jeni L. wife of Brian Hernley, Dyan M. wife of Joseph Rectenwald, and Kelly S. wife of Joshua Elliott; great-grandchildren, Alissa Boyer, Samantha Boyer, Katelyn Boyer, Emily Elliott, Andrew Elliott, TJ Rectenwald, Robert Rectenwald; great- greatgranddaughter, Jasmine Boyer; brother, Lawrence Spinnato, Shillington; and a sister, Amelia Taddao, Reading. He also leaves behind five step-children and his beloved companion, Kitty Cat. Funeral services will be on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at Grace U.C.C. Church, Church St., Richland. Viewing will be held 11 a.m. until the time of the service Thursday at the church. Interment will be made in Richland Cemetery. Clauser Funeral Home, Schaefferstown is handling the arrangements.
