  Isabel Chalmers Thomson Swank, 84, Cedar Haven, Lebanon, Pa., formerly of 
  Lebanon, died Friday, January 2, 2009, in Cedar Haven. She was the wife of the 
  late Harry E. Swank, a U.S. merchant seaman, whom she married in Glasgow, 
  Scotland, in 1945. She was born in Glasgow, Scotland, oldest of eight children, 
  on March 13, 1924, daughter of the late David and Agnes Kinney Thomson. During 
  World War II, she worked for the Rolls Royce Plant in Glasgow, and was 
  recognized by the British government as instrumental to the war effort. After 
  moving to Lebanon, she worked, later retiring, in bookkeeping at the Lebanon 
  Valley General Hospital. She was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 
  Lebanon, where she was active in the ECW and the bazaar committee. She was also 
  a member of the Retirees of the Lebanon Valley General Hospital. She was very 
  proud of her Scottish heritage, and enjoyed going to Scottish games. Surviving 
  are children Karen Swank Kustafik of Columbia, S.C., Harry Swank and wife Nancy 
  of Roanoke, Ill., David Swank of Lebanon, Pa.; five grandchildren; one great-
  grandchild; sister Sarah, wife of Ronald S. Yantz Sr. of Lebanon, Pa.; three 
  nieces; two nephews; and five siblings living in the United Kingdom. Memorial 
  services will be held Friday, March 13, 2009, at 2 p.m. in St. Luke's Episcopal 
  Church, Sixth and Chestnut streets, Lebanon, Pa. The Rohland Funeral Home inc., 
  Lebanon, Pa., is in charge of arrangements.
