  Christian D. Swope BETHEL Christian D. Swope, 91, died Sunday, August 30, 2009, 
  of natural causes in Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. He was the husband of 
  Dorothy B. (Weidner) Warluft-Swope. his first wife, LaRue E. (Yiengst) Swope 
  died in 1985. Born in Bethel Twp., he was the son of the late Henry D. and Mary 
  M. (Shirk) Swope. He was the owner of the former Swope & Keener Garage, Bethel, 
  later worked for the former Weber Chevrolet, Myerstown, and last was the owner 
  of the former Swope's 'Y' Garage in Bethel. Christian was a member of the Union 
  Fire Co., Bethel, Williamson Lodge #307 F.&A.M., Womelsdorf, Tall Cedars of 
  Lebanon Quiltapahilla Forest #25, and the Scottish Rite Lodge Council Chapter 
  of Reading. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Ruth L., 
  wife of Kenneth N. Moyer of Womelsdorf; stepson, Scott K. Warluft, husband of 
  Denise K., Robesonia; sister, Edith J., widow of Amos Ziegler, Myerstown; 
  grandson, Chris P. Houtz, Bethel; and a greatgranddaughter, MacKenzie M. Houtz. 
  Also four stepgrandchildren; and one step great-granddaughter. He was preceded 
  in death by a son, Mahlon M. Swope; stepson, Glenn Ray Warluft; brother, Ammon 
  H. Swope; and a sister, Lena G. Harlan. Service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday 
  in Hill Funeral Home, Rehrersburg. Interment at Salem Reformed Cemetery, 
  Bethel. Friends are invited to call Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. with Masonic 
  Services at 6 p.m. and Thursday 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorial 
  contributions may be made to Salem Reformed Church, P.O. Box 223, Bethel, PA 
  19507.
