Nancy M. Thompson Nancy M. (Edris) Thompson, 78, died Saturday, March 21, 2009, at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. She is survived by sons Craig and wife Deborah of Newmanstown, Pa., David and wife Christine of Boydton, Va.; and daughter Marcia and husband Stephen Crook of Oley, Pa.; grandchildren Melissa Rambler, Ryan Thompson, Emily Hill, and Morgan Porter; and great-grandchildren Cade and Colden Rambler, Daniel Thompson and Addison Hill. Nancy was preceded in death by husbands Mark W. Thompson and Clifford A. Minnich, along with sisters Elnora Spangler and Grace Donmoyer. She graduated in the class of 1948 from Lebanon High School and was instrumental in planning class reunion activities. Nancy was employed for 27 years with Boscov's Department Store in Lebanon, serving in public relations, promotions/fashion coordinator, and personnel before retiring in 1999. Prior to Boscov's, she was a training supervisor for Sears. She served as a member of the board of directors of the American Red Cross, vice president and membership chairman of the Lebanon Woman's Club, membership chairman for the Good Samaritan Hospital Auxiliary, member of the American Business Woman's Association, the County federation of Woman's Clubs, and a member of Salem Lutheran Church. During her years of service to the community, which enriched the lives of many, she received recognition and awards from Pennsylvania Jaycee Women of Today, Pennsylvania Special Olympics, Pennsylvania March of Dimes, U.S. Air Force, Lebanon County United Way, American Cancer Society, Lebanon County Senior Citizens, Annville/Cleona Women of Today, Ronald McDonald House, American Red Cross, Firemen of Lebanon County, Humane Society of Lebanon, Lebanon County Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs, Boy Scout Council, Penn Laurel Girl Scout Council, U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Federation of Women's Clubs, Milton Hershey Medical Center, Pennsylvania Rifle & Pistol Association, Emergency Services, Pennsylvania DECA Program, and Lebanon County Chief of Police Association. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 26th, at 10:30 a.m. at Rohland Funeral Home, 508 Cumberland St., Lebanon, Pa. The family will receive visitors one hour prior, as well as Wednesday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the American Red Cross, Lebanon County Chapter (#38208), 1220 Mifflin Street, Lebanon, PA 17046.
