She was 85 years old. Dr. Uhrich was the daughter of the late Sadie and William Harbach of Lebanon. She was preceded in death by her sister, Elizabeth, and brother Bob, as well as her husband, Dr. Robert Uhrich. Surviving her are her daughter, Barbara Acker of Mt. Gretna; her sons, Randy and Jed of Lebanon, and Bob of Marblehead, Massachusetts. She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. "Kitty," as her friends were fond of calling her, was a 1940 graduate of Lebanon High School. She received her college education at Ursinus College, and her doctorate degree from the Womens Medical College of Pennsylvania in 1947. As a practicing family physician, she and her husband, Robert, shared an office on North Seventh Street in Lebanon for over 30 years. During her life as a physician, she became much beloved by her patients, and was greatly missed by them upon her retirement in 1987. Kate's life was very active up until very recently. She always enjoyed working around her farm, gardening, traveling, and even playing tennis and skiiing into her early eighties. A selfless person throughout her life, she gave of herself to all who knew her, be it family, friend, patient, or even complete stranger. Her caring and thoughtful manner was very unique, and will be sorely missed by all of her family and friends. This world has been truly blessed to have known such a wonderful person. Her spirit will live on in all who have known and loved her. A private service will be had by the family at her farm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks a donation to be made to St. Luke's Episcopal Church of Lebanon.
