"Kit" Wentling, 93, formerly of Lebanon, died Friday, October 23, 2009, in the E.C.C. Retire ment Village Albright Campus, Myerstown. She was the wife of Charles D. Wentling, Sr., who passed away January 1993. She was born in Greenpoint, Lebanon Co., on August 24, 1916, daughter of the late Charles B. and Edith M. Bates Strouphar. Mrs. Wentling was a retired sexton for Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Lebanon, where she was a member and had been active for over 60 years. She served on church council, on numerous committees, and was a member of the LMH Sunday School Class. She had over 40 years service with the Girl Scouts, receiving the highest volunteer honor, "The Thanks Badge". She was a member of the Auxiliary to the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen and an active member of the Senior Center of Lebanon Valley for a number of years. Surviving are children, JoAnna Wentling and friend, Marie Boulden of Chester, John F. Wentling, Sr. and wife, Patricia of Rock Hill, S.C., and Gary L. Wentling and wife, Judy of Spokane, Wash.; 22 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-greatgrandchild; sister, Arlene, wife of Joe Angelo of Lebanon; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia L. Guindon; sons, Daniel S. Wentling and Charles D. Wentling, Jr.; brothers, John and Michael Strouphar; and sisters, Alma Ferster, Alverta Gettle, and Mary Houser. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 723 Lehman St., Lebanon, where a viewing will be held Friday beginning at 9 a.m. Interment will be in Covenant/Greenwood Cemetery, Ebenezer. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 723 Lehman St., Lebanon. PA 17046. The Rohland Funeral Home, Inc., Lebanon, is in charge of the arrangements.
