Lincoln Ave., died on Saturday, December 19, 2009, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lebanon. He was born Saturday, December 3, 1927, in Lebanon, to the late Arthur L. and Emma Schwartz Whitman in Lebanon. He founded Warren Whitman & Sons, Inc., Lebanon. He was a veteran of the army in World War II. He enjoyed woodworking, carpentry, and mechanics. He was involved with Mt. Olivet Lodge #704 F&AM, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Royal and Select Master Masons (Lebanon Court No. 27), Weidle Royal Arch Chapter No. 197, Quittapahilla Forest No. 25, Quentin Roosevelt Lion Club, The American Legion Post #0158, BPOE #631, Rexmont Fire Co., and Friendship Fire Co. Surviving are wife, Mildred M. Schriver Whitman; sons, Warren E. "Pete", Jr., spouse of Janet Whitman of Lebanon, Eric D. Whitman of Lebanon, and Dale G., spouse of Christine Whitman of Myerstown; grandchildren, Douglas Whitman, Michael Whitman, Devin Whitman, Courtney Pence, and Nicole Dunbar; great-grandchildren, Brandon Whitman, Daulton Whitman, Joshua Whitman, and Jessica Pence; and sister, Isabel Petry. He was preceded in death by sons, John and Charles Whitman; and brothers, Kenneth, Aaron, and Robert Whitman. Viewing will be from 12 to 1 p.m. on Saturday at Christman's Funeral Home, Inc., 226 Cumberland St., Lebanon. Masonic services will be at 11:45 a.m. provided by Mt. Olivet Lodge #704 F&AM. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Kochenderfer's "Zion" Cemetery, Lebanon. Memorial contributions can be made to the Quentin Roosevelt Lion's Club, 540 Maple St., Annville, PA 17003. Christman's Funeral Home, Inc. is honored to serve the family with the arrangements.
