"Willie" Willeman, 82, of 318 S. 2nd St., passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2009, with the same gentle grace that he walked the earth, surrounded by his family at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. William was born in Napoleon, Ohio, on February 17, 1927. He was a son of the late Jacob and Anna (Weirauch) Willeman. He was a 1946 graduate from the Napoleon High School, Ohio. He was a member of St. Cecilia's Church and a former Eucharistic Minister of St. Gregory the Great Church. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, working on search a word puzzles, and writing letters to family and friends. He was an avid sports fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles, Ohio State football, Lebanon High School, and Lebanon Catholic School teams, and any team his children or grandchildren played on. He enjoyed telling life stories to anyone who would listen, always entertaining and amusing the listener. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean War. He spent 33 months in Panama during this time. He worked as a Nursing Assistant for 35 years for the Lebanon VA Medical Center, and worked for Royers for several years delivering flowers. In addition to his wife, Louise M. (Ceresini ) Willeman, to whom he was married 56 years, he is survived by three children, Ann Marie, wife of David Shaner of Dover, Renee Willeman of Lebanon, and Michael, husband of Pamela Willeman of Mount Gretna; six grandchildren, Erika, Kristin, David, Brian, Louis, and Megan; seven greatgrandchildren; two sisters, Gladys, wife of Paul Riebesehl, and Ruth, wife of John Yates, both of Napoleon, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Pete and Robert Willeman. Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 1 p.m. from the St. Cecilia's Church, 202 E. Lehman St., Lebanon. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery with military honors. Viewing hours Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday morning from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., 126 S. 9th St., Lebanon. Christian burial vigil Tuesday evening at 7:45. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Easter Seals, 1040 Liggett Ave., Reading, PA 19611; or to Boys Town, 4801 Sargent Road, N.E.
