Wise, 86, entered into rest on Monday, August 31, 2009, in the Hershey Medical Center. He sustained injuries earlier in the day from an auto accident that occurred on Route 501 in Heidelberg Township, Lebanon County. He was the husband of the late Catherine M. Weaver Wise and the late Kathryn M. Martin Wise. He was born May 27, 1923, in Brecknock Township, Lancaster County, a son of the late Aaron W. and Hannah Good Wise. Jacob was a member of the Martin's Mennonite Church of the Weaverland Conference and a retired farmer. He is survived by children, Merle W., husband of Elsie Wise of Stevens, Marian M., wife of William White of Dowagiac, Mich., Aaron Eugene, husband of Beulah Wise of Seneca Falls, N.Y., Mary Catherine, wife of David Lamar Hurst of Newville, Mary Lou Wise, wife of the late Lester Wise of Waterloo, N.Y., Susan M. Wise of Myerstown, and Jacob M., husband of Margaret Wise of Womelsdorf; 37 grandchildren; 91 greatgrandchildren; one greatgreat- granddaughter; brothers, Aaron Wise of Lebanon, Luke, husband of Anna Wise of Myerstown, and Alvin, husband of Anna Mae Wise of East Earl; and sisters, Susan Martin of Lancaster, Verna, wife of Paul Martin, and Laura, wife of Lewis Horst, both of Lebanon, Hannah Martin of Ephrata, Anna, wife of Eli Horst of Leola, and Ruth, wife of Ammon Zimmerman of New Holland. He was preceded in death by a son, Lester Wise; a great-grandchild; brother, Raymond Wise; and sister, Erma Hoover. Funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday in the Martindale Mennonite (Framed) Church, Martindale Road, Martindale. Interment will be made in the adjoining church cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Fairview Mennonite Reception Center, Jackson Road, Lebanon. Please omit flowers.
