(Cave) Ziegler, Shannondell, Lower Providence Twp., Montgomery Co., died Friday, at Montgomery Hospital, Norristown. Mr. Ziegler was born on December 12, 1924, in Bethel, Berks Co., and was the son of the late Wilmer B. and Sadie (Hibshman) Ziegler. He served as a Staff Sergeant and orthopedic technician in the 3610th Service Command Unit, US Army, during World War II. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Ziegler was a medical equipment designer and fabricator with Synthes, Inc., E. Goshen Twp., Chester Co. He previously worked for the HolterHausner Co. Mr. Ziegler was a member of the Green Tree Church of The Brethren, Upper Providence Twp., Montgomery Co., where he was a former deacon. He was also a life member of the Trappe Historical Society, where he volunteered on the property committee. He was an expert woodworker who built custom furniture and enjoyed repairing and restoring items at the historical society. In addition to his wife, Mr. Ziegler is survived by his son, Lloyd L. Jr. and his wife, Theresa (Crook) Ziegler, Limerick Twp., Montgomery Co.; his daughter, Evelyn Z., and her husband, Dennis R. Brown, Douglass Twp., Berks Co.; his grandchildren, Bradley L. Ziegler, Heather N., and her husband, James Robbins, and Jennifer L. and her husband, Stephen Patten; his greatgrandchildren, Joshua, Justin, and Nicholas Patten; and his brother, Wilmer B., Jr. and his wife, Myra (Schwenk) Ziegler, Lebanon. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Weik. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 AM, Thursday, at the South Annville Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Church Rd., S. Annville Twp., with the Rev. Robert A. Meschke officiating. Friends may call from 7:00 to 9:00 PM, Wednesday, at the Holcombe Funeral Home, Inc., 21 Main St., Trappe, Montgomery Co.; and the family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:30 AM, Thursday, at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Montgomery Hospital Home Care & Hospice, 25 W. Fornance St., Norristown, PA 19401.
