  Earl W. "Zip" Zimmerman, 87, of Pine Grove, Pa., passed away Friday, July 3, 
  2009 in Schuylkill Medical Center South, Jackson Street, Pottsville. Born on 
  June 18, 1922 in Pine Grove, he was a son of the late Andrew P. and Mary E. 
  Fegley Zimmerman. Earl was a U.S. Army veteran having served in W.W. II in Sq. 
  A 452nd Air Service Group. His specialty was the Military Police 677 and he 
  received the Good Conduct Medal, The American Theater Service Medal and the 
  W.W. II Victory Medal. He also served in Korea with the Army in the 121st 
  Transportation Truck Co. and he received the Korean Service Medal w/3 bronze 
  campaign stars and the United Nations Service Medal. Earl worked as a sign 
  painter and was employed at Ft. Indiantown Gap for 38 years. He was a member of 
  St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Pine Grove. Preceding him in death was his first 
  wife, Jacquelin "Jackie" Stats Zimmerman on September 9, 1994. Surviving are 
  his wife of 14 wonderful years, Eva Brensinger Dubbs Zimmerman, children, 
  grandchildren, great grandchildren, step children, step grandchildren, step 
  great grandchildren. Services will be held at H.L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., 
  on Wednesday, July 8, at 10 a.m. with Dr. Richard W. Schoenleber officiating. 
  Interment will follow in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pa. 
  Friends will be received at the H.L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove, Pa. 
  on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until time of service. The family would prefer, in 
  lieu of flowers, donations be given to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 312 S. 
  Tulpehocken St., Pine Grove, in his memory.
