Elwood "Woody" Bauman, 80, passed away suddenly on Saturday, July 31, 2010. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Arlene (Auker) Bauman. He was born Wednesday, April 2, 1930, in Lancaster County, to the late Ernest and Grace (Snyder) Bauman. He was a man of God and lived every aspect of his life with honor and integrity. He loved his family dearly, cherished his grandchildren and throughout his life served as a role model for all. He was an avid hunter and salt water fisherman. He is survived by two sons, Randy L. Bauman and wife, Brenda of Grantville, and Rodney L. Bauman and wife, Sharon of Palmyra; two daughters, Shirley A. Weaver and husband, Mervin of Lititz, and Sylvia J. Bomgardner and husband, Carl James of Annville; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; two brothers, Elvin Bauman and Mark Bauman and wife Charlotte; and two sisters, Orpha Herr and husband David, and Rachel Risser. He was predeceased by a grandson, Austin Bauman; a brother, Luke Bauman; a sister-in-law, Marion Bauman; and a brother- inlaw, Samuel Risser. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Stauffers Mennonite Church, 790 Bachmanville Road, Hershey, PA 17033, with Ernest Mummau officiating. Family and friends are invited for viewing on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 West Pine Street, Palmyra, PA 17078, and from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Burial will follow in Stauffers Mennonite Church Cemetery, Hershey. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his honor to East Hanover Mennonite Church, c/o Dwight Charles, 1147 Stonemill Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022.
